As a result, Nokia has released a new firmware update to its 52XX series handsets. This new firmware update released to devices such as; Nokia 5228, 5230, 5233, 5235, 5236 and the 5238. This new v50.x.xxx software update for all these handsets brings some major changes.

Most importantly, this new Firmware update from Nokai brings a new version of web browser V7.2, this is the same web browser which is found in Symbian Anna devices. This new web browser delivers a much improved browsing experience, and supports multiple tabs as well as comes with lot of improvements. This new software update will also bring support for emoticons and the phone will also display a new big clock with time and date, when the menu button is pressed, whilst the phone is locked. It has got an easy lock and unlock system as well. You can unlocked your handset by just swiping on the screen. The new Firmware update is available through OTA (Over The Air) as well as NSU (Nokia Software Updater). Ovi Contacts will be removed from the phone, after the software update. As the 52xx series handsets support UDP (User Data Preservation), so users don’t need to make a backup of data before proceeding for firmware update. But you should to have a backup of all your important data using Nokia Back feature.
