On the day when Motorola, the well known manufacturer of mobile devices made announcements regarding the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS to be unveiled with the Droid Razr devices, the Toshiba, also a manufacturer of mobile devices announced that the implementation of the latest Android OS on the Thrive tablets is to be delayed. The details of the announcements as well as the plans of the company are discussed below in details.
Earlier, Toshiba had made promises saying that it will upgrade its Thrive tablets with the Android 4.9 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. According to the company, this upgrade was to happen before the spring ends but this time announcements said that it is to be delayed. In the forums of the company, Toshiba wrote in a message recently saying that it has changed its focus as well as timeline and has started focusing on an “early fall.”
An official moderator account of the company said “We are working hard to bring Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich to our Thrive tablets,” it also announced “While we originally estimated it would be ready this spring, we now estimate the update will be delivered to all Thrive 10-inch and 7-inch tablets by early fall. Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
As you know, the spring season came to an end in the 19th of June and the official fall of season in to be on the go on the 22nd of September. In the my Android 4.0 report card, Toshiba is being presented with an “incomplete” grade and this because of the company’s short of upgrades which did not happen to take place in the very first quarter of the year.
