After you have installed the Skype application on your smartphone, click on it to bring it to the front. Now you will now be prompted to sign in to your Skype account, if you have an existing account else create a new account.

You can sync all your contacts with the Skype contacts or ignore this step and continue. After you are done syncing, you will be taken to the main page and you will discover four options that are Contacts, Recent, Call phone and Profile.
