Samsung SyncMaster NC220 Monitor with UPOE Technology

Reportedly, Samsung partnered with Cisco and preparing to introduced world’s first monitor with the Universal Power Over Ethernet (UPOE) technology, called the Samsung SyncMaster NC220. The upcoming Samsung SyncMaster NC220 is a widescreen LCD monitor with ultra-slim with eco-friendly design. Cisco’s UPOE technology is enabling data and power through a single Ethernet cable, which is about 60 watts of power as compared to 30 watts of existing Ethernet technologies. Unfortunately, there is no information on its pricing and availability at moment but we’ve some interesting information about its specifications which have discussed below.

Cisco’s UPOE technology allows its powers and connects through a network (Ethernet) cable that’s making a virtualized central server and a ‘zero client’ monitors. The upcoming Samsung SyncMaster NC220 is equipped with LED BLU technology and is server-based, which means there’s no need for a local CPU as every processing need is taken care of by the centrally located server. By which a company can ensure lower power consumption, reduction in the cost of ownership as well as complexity.
