Huawei, one of the well known mobile phone manufacturers announced a new smartphone named as the Ascend D quad XL. This particular handset was announced in the month of February, 2012 and is expected to be released in the 2nd Quarter of this year itself. This smartphone is accorded with a lot of amazing and stunning features which include 4.5 inches display, 8 MP rear facing camera, autofocus, dual-LED flash, Geo-tagging, 1.3 MP front facing camera, Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, Huawei K3V2 chipset, etc. This phone accompanies many more sizzling features which are discussed below in details.
This Huawei smartphone is well designed with a sober look and is built with a 4.5 inches (~326 ppi pixel density) IPS- LCD capacitive multitouch touchscreen display which resembles a display resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and which features 16M colors. This device runs on an Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and is powered by a Quad-core processor which is clocked at a frequency of 1.5 GHz. It is also powered by a Huawei K3V2 chipset and is provided with Accelerometer, gyro, proximity and a compass as sensors. It supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 2G network and a HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 3G network.

It is also provided with a 1.3 MP front facing camera which enables video calling and video chatting along with a video support of 1080p at 30fps. The device is enhanced with an internal memory of 8 GB ROM and a 1 GB RAM and an external memory which is featured as microSD card which is expandable up to 32 GB. For networking and communication, it is facilitated with Messaging via SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail and IM. It is also enabled with HTML browser, GPS with A-GPS support and Java via Java MIDP emulator. It is provided with many more miscellaneous features such as Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, SNS integration, TV-out (via MHL A/V link), Organizer, Document editor, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial/commands and Predictive text input.
The huawei Ascend D quad XL is powered by a Li-Ion 2500 mAh standard battery which ensures a good and sufficient battery backup. It measures 129 x 64 x 10.9 mm in dimensions and weighs around 150 g. The device will be available in Metallic black and Ceramic white colors after its release in the 2nd quarter of this year and is expected to be priced at Rs.26000.
