Happenings and Expectations of MWC 2012, Barcelona

Well, the most awaited MWC started yesterday (26th February, Sunday) in Barcelona, Spain, which brought a huge number of mobile showcases and updates such as mobile phones and tablets. Here, many companies are displaying their products when some are announcing their devices and some are releasing as well. There is a continuous showcasing of mobile devices featuring quad-core phones, 4G networks and new operating systems right here in MWC, Barcelona. Moreover, we will be getting updates of each and every happening at MWC as PC Magazine is present in the event and is covering gadgets as far as possible. Check out the major happenings and expectations of MWC, 2012 which are discussed below.

MWCAcer is likely to release its Acer CloudMobile, which is built with a 4.3 inch display and powered with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. As the name of this device suggests, it is featured with some useful cloud service and is also enhanced with Dolby sound. Today, Asus is expected to make debut of its Padfone, which is literally a smartphone-com-tablet device. This particular hybrid device, the Padfone, is a 4.3 inch smartphone which is convertible into a 10-inch tablet and features a lot of advantages.

HTC, the well known manufacturer of mobile devices is coming up with four new Android devices namely the One S, One X, One V, and the One XL. Among these four, the HTC X is powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 processor when the HTC One S is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor. The HTC One V is a mobile device which is mainly focused on music and is featured with Beats Audio. Huawei, after its success with the Cricket’s spectacular Mercury phone and P1 S, is now expected to come up with a quad-core handset, the Ascend D1 Q phone along with a 10-inch tablet. Moreover, LG, who has been continuously pumping devices, is expected to announce its Windows Phones as well as some Quad-core Android devices too. Its coming up with Android devices such as the X3 which is a Nvidia Tegra 3-based quad-core device, an Optimus 3D 2 and an Optimus Vu along with Miracle, a low-budget Windows Phone.

It is also expected that Microsoft will up bring some Windows Phone with Wndows Phone 7.6 Tango OS which will accompany less-powerful processors and displays with lower screen resolutions along with the integration of Skype. Microsoft will be showcasing Windows 8 on Wednesday and the most awaited consumers may get a chance to get their hands on the ARM tablets in order to check the apps. Nokia is expected to announce Windows 7.6 Tango and display a total of six phones which include two high-end Windows phones with low-budgets, three phones featuring Asha texting and a Symbian based Phone.

It also seems that Microsoft will up bring some Windows Phone with Wndows Phone 7.6 Tango OS which will accompany less-powerful processors and displays with lower screen resolutions along with the integration of Skype. As a matter of fact, Sony Ericsson is just Sony and hence this year is the first MWC without Sony Ericsson and Sony will be displaying two Android phones namely the Xperia U and Xperia P and the later featuring a 4 inch display and a dual-core ST-Ericsson processor clocked at 1GHz. The ZTE has plans to release a bunch of Android and Windows devices which would be featuring Windows 7.6 Tango today. A handful of Tegra 3-based phones will be launched by Nvidia’s partners and is likely to discuss about Grey which is a low-budget chipset. Well, these are the major happenings and expectations of the MWC 2012 and there are much more to come too but things can be changed depending on the changing minds of the companies involved.
