On grounds of the appeals and claims of India in order to remove hate contents and speeches, Facebook, the largest and widely used social networking site reported saying that it will be removing all the hate content and block pages. The website also said that it is likely to disable accounts of a huge number of users who upload contents of incite violence or carry on hate speech. The website said that the accounts will be turned out of action.
In terms of understanding the depth, the strict warning of the social networking site to its users aroused when the government of India brought issue regarding the posting of hate contents which includes inciting matters, hate images and videos which create social disturbances in the country.
After the announcements and according to reporters of the giant search engine, a spokesperson of Facebook said “Facebook will remove content which breaches our terms as set out in our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. Content or individuals can be removed from Facebook for a variety of reasons including issuing direct calls for violence or perpetuating hate speech.”
The spokesperson, when asked regarding the actions being carried out by the company, added saying “We have received requests from Indian authorities and agencies and are working through those requests and responding to the agencies. We encourage people to continue to use our tools to report content they are concerned about so that we can investigate and take action fast.”
