iOS 6 Codenamed “Sundance” to Feature Siri API

Apple is expected to unveil iOS 6 at WorldWide Developer Conference 2012. Rumors have started floating around the internet regarding iOS 6. MG Siegler of TechCrunch has managed to get some information about iOS 6. According to MG Siegler, the code name for iOS 6 is “Sundance”. He has got this information from a reliable source who claims that iOS 6 will feature Siri API. Developers can use this Siri API to develop Siri based apps which will operate through voice.

MG Siegler reports that iOS 6 will bring Siri for iPad. It will allow iPad users to enjoy Siri voice assistant feature on their iPad. This is really a great news for iPad users. After upgrading your iPad to iOS 6, you will be able to send SMS, set reminders using your voice with the help of Siri. Previously Siri was not available for iPad due to an issue associated with the user interface. iOS 6 will fix this issue. MG Siegler also claims that Apple is planning to use their own map software in place of Google Maps.

Recently Apple has announced that WWDC 2012 will be held from 11th June to 15th June at Moscone West in San Francisco. On-site registration will be started at 9:00 AM on 10th June. You have to purchase a ticket to attend WorldWide Developer Conference 2012. Tickets will be available at a price of $1599. You will be able to purchase only one ticket. You should note that only paid member of Mac Developer Program, iOS Developer Enterprise Program, or iOS Developer Program will be able to attend WorldWide Developer Conference 2012.

For those who don’t know, Worldwide Developers Conference takes place every year at San Francisco. Developers from various places come to this conference to get in-depth look at the latest in OS X and iOS. It allows them to meet with other developers from all around the world.
