Recently Ciccarese Design has created some concept pictures of iPad mini to see how the 7.85-inch iPad will look like. According to various sources, iPad mini will not support all apps due to its smaller screen size. Developer Richard Gaywood has created some mockups to see how some popular apps would look like on the smaller 7.85-inch screen of iPad Mini. You can see the picture posted below.

Recently John Gruber of Daring Fireball has claimed that a 7.85-inch iPad exists in the research lab of Apple. He has revealed this information when the host Dan Benjamin asked him about the smaller iPad in episode #86 of The Talk Show.

Recently Gottabemobile has posted some photos of iPad mini engineering samples, which provides a clear indication that the thickness of iPad mini will be smaller than the thickness of current generation iPad and the size of iPad mini will be two-third the size of current generation iPad. The photos indicate that iPad mini will come with 19-pin dock connector and two speakers while the current generation iPad has only one speaker.

Apple has not provided any information regarding iPad mini launch date. According to various sources, the mass production of iPad Mini will be started in September and it will be launched in October this year. Recently Chinese newspaper Apple Daily has claimed that Apple will use IGZO display in the iPad mini to make it thinner and more power efficient than the current generation iPad. MyDrivers had claimed that iPad mini with IGZO display will cost $249.
