Apple Unveils OS X Mountain Lion Features at WWDC 2012

Apple has unveiled various features of OS X Mountain Lion at Worldwide Developers Conference. OS X Mountain Lion comes with lots of interesting features including iCloud, Facebook integration, Notification Center, Dictation, System wide sharing, new Safari, Power Nap, AirPlay mirroring, new Messages app, Game Center, and Gatekeeper. Now you can easily set up reminders, messages, notes, calendars, contacts and mail on OS X Mountain Lion with the help of your iCloud account. It will keep your documents up-to-date on your Mac.

OS X Mountain Lion

OS X Mountain Lion comes with Notification Center from where you can get all notifications. Simply swipe your finger from right to left on the trackpad to see all notifications. It also provides the option to customize the notifications. Now you can chat with iOS device users from your Mac. OS X Mountain Lion comes with new Messages app using which you can send messages to iOS device users. It allows you to use iMessage feature on your Mac. You will be able to see when your friend is typing a reply. You can send anything from your Mac. You can also use Gtalk and other IM services on your Mac with the help of new Messages app.

Sharing

Now you can share anything from your Mac with the click of a single button. OS X Mountain Lion comes with System wide sharing feature which will provide a new way of file sharing. You will be able to see a share button on your OS X Mountain Lion which can be used to share documents quickly with your friends. Now you can download apps safely from internet on your Mac with the help of Gatekeeper feature available in OS X Mountain Lion. Gatekeeper will provide the option to select which app should be installed on your Mac.

iMessage

OS X Mountain Lion comes with Facebook integration just like iOS 6. Now you can use Facebook in a new way on your Mac. You have to sign in to your Facebook account only once. Then, you can post comment and set your Facebook status message from the Notification Center of your Mac. You will get all Facebook notifications on the Notification Center. Now you can use your voice to type text on your Mac with the help of Dictation feature available in OS X Mountain Lion. Dictation will type message after converting your voice into text.

Apple has also announced the launch date and price of OS X Mountain Lion at WWDC 2012. According to Apple, OS X Mountain Lion will be released in July. It will be available at a price of $19.99. You will be able to download it from the Mac App Store.
