Paid Android Apps Downloaded Slightly Increased by 2%
A mobile application search and discovery service, Chomp has recently revealed a report on app search trends. This report by Chomp has disclosed a slight increase of 2% in paid Android apps downloaded, from 3% in April to 5% in May. The fact remains same that, paid apps in Android Market are still far behind in the download race as against free apps. Chomp also reported that 95% of the apps downloaded in Android in May were free. It also looked at the price range of downloaded paid Android apps. This report revealed that, 1.7% of the total downloads are apps priced at $0.1 to $1.00, followed by the apps which cost between $1.01-$2 is 1.5% of the total app downloads, and most interestingly 0.1% of the total downloads are apps priced at $9.01-$10.00. This report has also revealed that, Games top as the most popular Android app categories resulting a 27% of the total app downloads, while utilities and entertainment tie at second position with 16% of total downloads, and social networking apps are not neglected at 8% (See above chat for more information).
