The upcoming version of the Google’s Android Operating System named as the Jelly Bean is to grant a lightning fast content search on the Web and will enable the sharing of photos among two mobile devices and a lot more. Jelly Bean is the nickname of Android version 4.1 as Google has a tradition of naming its updates with a delicious and mouth watering name. This version of the Android was previewed by Google in a conference at San Francisco on Wednesday.
1. Google Now
Google Now is one of the newly accorded feature of the Android OS that enables you to automatically know the correct information at the correct time when this particular feature is active. Suppose, you said “traffic,” what happens is, the feature will search for your regular travel to your workplace and will display many substitute routes in case there is a lot of traffic. This feature will automatically let you know the scores of your favorite team of a specific sport. This will also update you about your flight, train, etc statuses. According to Google, the Google Now is such an amazing feature which becomes smarter and smarter as you use it more and more.
2. Offline voice typing
Earlier, a voice dictation feature was brought by Android but this time Google has made enhancements to it on the Jelly Bean platform transforming it to offline voice typing which makes it to work without any network connection. The voice recognition engine has been contracted and reduced in size in order to fix it in a phone which eradicates the processing taken place of Google servers. Initially, this will be made available in the English (US) and later a number of different languages are to be added. Well, Jelly Bean accompanies a smarter keyboard which predicts the next word to be written by you.
3. Expandable notifications
Android platforms have granted very good and effective Notifications which are fundamental and essential in the Android usage but Jelly Bean is still enhancing them and they are getting better and better. The applications of the Android will be displayed larger, wider and will ensure richer notifications and you can also expand as well as collapse these with a simple pinch. With Jelly Bean, the notifications come with latest content types which include photos along with effective priority as well as multi-actions.
4. Improvements to Android Beam
The upcoming Jelly Bean will be able to share photos and this will be done by the tapping of the two phones together. This tapping is done by making use of a wireless technology named as the near-field communications. The currently running Ice Cream Sandwich OS avails this ability of sharing data via NFC but up till some limit. This facility of sharing data by tapping is available in the Samsung Galaxy S III but it only works with the Galaxy S III smartphone phones.

Flying update of the Jelly bean will be granted to some devices such as the Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Xoom and Nexus S. Finally, the new tablet PC from Google called the Nexus 7 will come along with the Jelly Bean OS update.
