Lately LG has not done any great job by providing its customers with the official updates of Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich version but now things are on the verge of change. A couple of days ago, LG had announced that three of its popular smartphones namely Optimus LTE, Optimus Vu and Optimus LTE Tag will be receiving the official ICS treatment in the first week of June.
Here comes the good news that the first of the trio, Optimus LTE has already received the much awaited and anticipated Android 4.0 upgrade. Optimus LTE is one of LG’s most popular smartphones in Korea that has got the Android 4.0 OTA update along with an UI makeover in the form of a newly designed Optimus 3.0 overlay. But we are still not sure if all Optimus LTE users have installed the software update or its just a few.
If you are living in Korea and own an Optimus LTE but have not received any update prompt message then you should check for a better network connection or reboot your smartphone a couple of times. If neither of it works, you should probably wait for some more time for the OTA update to reach.
Steps to Update Android 4.0 in LG Optimus LTE:
Step-1: As this is an official update, you will receive notifications directly on your device saying that the updates are available for your smartphone along with other details of the update. If you have received any such notifications then you can choose to tap on Install Now or Install Later option.
Step-2: Install Now option will update the software instantaneously and Install later option will remind you daily of the update. Users who haven’t received any notifications can manually check by navigating through the path Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software update then tap on Update Android.
Step-3: After the updates are applied, you can check the software version by navigating through Menu > Settings > About Tablet then check for the built number and software number.
Thus you can easily install the ICS update in LG Optimus LTE smartphone by following the steps mentioned above carefully.
